About Mark McKenna Little |
Mark Little built a multi-million dollar financial advisory firm by being a Trusted Advisor in every sense of the term. However, at one point in his career, he was ready to leave the business world; not because he wasn't financially successful (he had built a multi-six figure business for himself), but because he was overwhelmed. In 2004, at age 48, he had too many clients, worked 84 hours per week and, after struggling with his weight for 25 years, he weighed 313 pounds, suffered from diabetes, a painful form of arthritis and a family history of heart attacks.
Rather than quit his business, Mark decided to try one last thing: he would implement the same principles that he utilized successfully for nearly two decades in helping his affluent financial services clients accomplish their biggest, most challenging and inspiring goals. Mark became passionate about relentlessly implementing a plan to optimize his business and his life. First he identified 17 ideal clients within his client base of 1,242. Within 36 months those 17 clients helped him grow the ideal community of clients to 91 (he had politely disengaged from the 1,151 other clients). He was able to reduce his workweek to 36 hours working only 3 days a week while quadrupling his income to well over $1million per year of predictable recurring revenue. Most importantly, however, his Ideal Clients loved the new level of attention they were able to receive, and they became extremely loyal clients who entrusted Mark with 100% of their financial affairs.
Mark then applied those same principles he learned in his journey helping the affluent and then transforming his business to gain more balance in his own life. He relentlessly implemented a plan to make optimal health a priority in his life. He was able to reduce his weight from 313 pounds to 173 pounds (his High School weight) and has maintained his weight loss. A non-athlete for more than 2 decades, Mark now competes in 3-4 triathlons per year, a single race which combines swimming, bicycling and running.
In 2007 Mark mentored 12 overweight non-athletes utilizing these same principles that Mark describes in his talks. This group lost a combined 321 pounds over 7 months. Most of the group, who couldn't run a block or swim a lap before meeting Mark, completed the Chicago Accenture Triathlon with him in August 2007; the others completed a 100 kilometer bike race.
Mark wrote The Fitness Race as a means of giving people, who struggle with their weight, a successful plan and a path to conquering their weight issue. Mark speaks about the process that he has followed to successfully accomplish many Big Audacious Goals (BAGs) in his life and shares with his audiences the simple 4-step process that will work in implementing any huge goal.
